Inspired by Nature & History
May dawn find you awake and alert, approaching your new day with dreams, possibilities, and promises.
May evening find you gracious and fulfilled.
May you go into the night blessed, sheltered, and protected.
May your soul calm, console, and renew you.

About the Artists
Artisan Jay "The Lithic Guy"
Jay was born on Long Island in New York. He now lives and works in the peaceful eastern woodlands of Connecticut.
Through extensive research and replication, Jay has become a premiere artisan flintknapper, lithic artifact replication specialist, and primitive craftsman of the Northeastern United States. His passion for history and anthropology, combined with his work as an archaeological field technician, consultant, and historical researcher, has given him specialized insight on the crafting processes of ancient peoples. He uses his extensive knowledge about ancient and traditional techniques to create survival tools.
Among his numerous ventures, Jay has worked with the largest Native American museum in the world, the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center, crafting replica artifacts for experimental archaeology, conducting research, and he contributed to the Mystic Fort Battlefield Protection Project. In 2015, he returned to college to continue his studies in anthropology and archaeology. Recently, he collaborated with the Mohegan Historical Preservation Office to establish an educational lithic artifact comparative collection.
Jay’s deep love of history is matched by his love of nature. Utilizing his skills as a naturalist and his knowledge about ancient ways of life, he teaches and advocates for the development of self-sufficiency, survival skills, and nature re-connection.
